Job Title:  Outside Salesperson

Reports To:  Sales Manager

 

Job Summary:  To generate sales by prospecting for new business opportunities while maintaining relationships with current customers.

 

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Contacts prospective and current customers to solicit sales of company products and services.

  • Responds to customer inquires promptly.

  • Follows up on customer inquires and provides price quotes as necessary.

  • Ensures customers are aware of new product information. 

  • Follows up with sales leads generated through incoming calls, advertising campaigns, social media, and other promotional efforts.

  • Travels to customer locations to present company products, services, and pricing information in a professional manner. 

  • Applies technical knowledge of company products and services to meet customer needs best.

  • Maintains proper records for each customer to assist with developing sales forecasts.

  • Submits appropriate paperwork to management, such as expense and call reports. 

  • Understands and supports company sales policies and procedures to provide proper and effective service to all customers and encourage long-term business relationships.

  • Assists and resolves customer complaints promptly.  Notifies management of challenges and suggests solutions. 

  • Collects and reports competitive information to management.

  • Attends training sessions and trade shows on behalf of the company to present products and services.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
